How To Stay Motivated When You Start A New Diet

Deciding to eat healthy is really pretty easy decision. Sticking with it requires self-dedication! Have you ever found yourself on Friday night saying to yourself that’s what this weekend is my last weekend in junk food? Come Monday I’ll start fresh and eat healthy? And by Wednesday you have already lost motivation and have slipped back into old habits. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you stay motivated while eating healthy
You need:.
Journal or notebook.

– 1 –
Set a goal-Maybe you’ve decided to start eating healthy because you wanted to lose weight or maybe it’s for a health reason. Whatever the reason write it down and post it in a visible place like the fridge and or kitchen cabinets. It is important to remember to set your goal to be realistic. It is recommended to only lose 2 pounds per week so do not set yourself a goal of losing 20 pounds in a month or you will find yourself on an emotional roller coaster.

– 2 –
Remember your past-Once you’ve tried to eat healthy in the past and found yourself unable to stick with it why do you feel that you lost your motivation? Was it too rigid? Did prepare healthy food takes too much time? When you find any of these reasons you can begin to find solutions to them so you can avoid making the same mistakes again.

Diary This is always recommended when trying to lose weight. But when I try to eat healthy it can come in handy too. Write down new recipes that you find and note what you liked or disliked about the recipe and any changes you want to do it next time. Write the goal down and write a justification for setting aims and benefits you’ll stick with it!

Take it slow-Adapting a new way of life is not easy. Try first to remove some of the easier things. For example replace soda with diet soda or replace a soda today with water. By taking it slow things will not seem so drastic and you will be more likely to stick with it long term.

Plan-Planning meals in advance is a great way to stay on track with healthy eating. Also planning shopping list in advance is a good idea. Both of these ideas will keep you from just throwing things together at the last minute. By planning ahead can help avoid temptation.
